What is the Hilton Macquarie Platinum Card?

The Hilton Macquarie Platinum Card is a co-branded credit card offering benefits at Hilton Hotels including, 20% off any accommodation, room charges and food and beverages at Hilton Hotels in Australasia. Plus you'll receive 1.25 Macquarie Reward points per dollar spent^ and enjoy all the privileges of a Visa Platinum Card.

What is my membership number?

Your Hilton Macquarie Platinum Card membership number is the last four digits of your credit card number.

Can I use the Hilton Macquarie Platinum Card outside of Hilton Hotels?

The Hilton Macquarie Platinum Card can be used outside of Hilton Hotels. You’ll earn a minimum of 1.25 Macquarie Reward points per dollar spent^. To earn even more Macquarie Rewards shop with our bonus partners and get the reward you want faster.

In order to receive my membership benefits at Hilton, do I need pay the bill on my Hilton Macquarie Platinum Card?

To enjoy your privileges at Hilton Hotels, you must produce your Hilton Macquarie Platinum Card upon arrival at the hotel and or outlets. Your Hilton Macquarie Platinum Card will be automatically debited for the charge unless you specify payment using an alternative credit card or other payment method.

What does the 20% off any published, promotional, seasonal or weekend accommodation rate mean?

You will receive a further 20% off any advertised Hilton consumer accommodation rate for any participating Hilton Hotel in Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and French Polynesia. This includes third party accommodation sites when booked via Hilton channels such as Hilton Reservations Worldwide, Hilton.com, Hiltonmacquarie.com, or with the participating Hilton Hotel. Your 20% discount is unlimited and available on any room type, any date - if the hotel has a room available you are guaranteed this room plus your 20% discount.

How many rooms are the accommodation benefits valid for?

The membership allows for one discounted room per member. If members are staying in-house with children under the age of 18 then a second discounted room can be arranged.

What does the Exclusive Reward Card entitle me to?

The Card entitles you to one night’s accommodation at an exclusive rate of AU$99 at a Hilton Hotel in Australia. It is valid in a standard Hilton Guest Room, room only (no breakfast). Before you run your search, ensure to tick 'Use flexible dates' so if your preferred dates are not available; alternative dates are given. You can use this Card to upgrade to a higher room type by paying an additional supplement rate on top of AU$99, simply select a higher room type when booking.

What are the Member for Stay/ Guest Passes Cards for?

Pass these Cards on to your family, friends or colleagues and they will experience 20% off accommodation, room charges and food beverage on their next Hilton stay. These Cards must be registered at hiltonmacquarie.com and an activation code is provided that is required upon check-in at the hotel.

Can I use my Food & Beverage discounts when I’m not staying at the hotel?

Yes. There is a minimum spend of AU$50, NZ$60, FJ$60, US$50 that will apply in order for the 20% discount to apply if you are not staying at the hotel.

How do I access the dining benefits?

Simply present your Hilton Macquarie Platinum Card to the restaurant staff after reviewing the bill. To reserve a table at one of Hilton’s first-class restaurants, please telephone the hotel directly. View participating Hilton Hotels

Alternatively if you are staying at the hotel, simply charge your dining bill to your room and your 20% discount will be applied when you check-out.

What if there are two members dining at the same table?

One Hilton Macquarie Platinum Card is accepted per table or party. The dining discount applies to the first 10 people.

How do I access the bar benefits?

Upon arrival at the bar, simply start a bar tab using your Hilton Macquarie Platinum Card. Alternatively, if you are staying at the hotel, simply charge your bar bill to your room and your 20% discount will be applied when you check-out. A minimum spend of AU$50, NZL$60, FJ$60 or US$50 applies if you are not staying at the hotel before your 20% discount apples.

Is my membership transferable?

Your membership is not transferable. However you can pass on the benefits of membership to your friends, family or colleagues by giving your Guest Pass to them, allowing them to save 20% on their next stay.

How long is my membership valid for?

The membership is valid for as long as you have an active Hilton Macquarie Platinum Card.

When is the membership not valid?

Your membership discounts do not apply to items that involve a third-party cost to a participating Hilton Hotel such as banqueting, take-away, pastry shop purchases, catering, taxis, in-house movies, doctor visits, day tours, parking, transfers or on special promotions or events.

I do not receive any member specials via email?

How do I cancel my Card?

You must contact Macquarie Bank on 1300 150 300. The cancellation of your credit card will automatically result in a termination of the provision of the Hilton benefits.

What should I do if my Hilton Macquarie Platinum Card has been lost or stolen?

You must immediately notify Macquarie Bank on 1300 150 300. A fee may apply to reissue your Hilton Macquarie Platinum Card.

What should I do if my Benefit Cards has been lost or stolen?

The Benefit Cards (Exclusive Reward Card & Guest Passes) are not replaceable if lost or stolen.

How long before I receive my Hilton Macquarie Platinum Card?

Your Hilton Macquarie Platinum Card will be sent to you within 10 working days after your application is received and provided you have been approved for credit. To assist us in processing your application quickly, please complete your application in full.

You will be sent the Benefit Pack Cards only after your Hilton Macquarie Platinum Credit Card has been activated. These Benefit Cards include one $99 Exclusive Reward Card and Two Guest Passes.

I made a hotel reservation however my confirmation doesn’t show the 20% discount?

When making your reservation online or via Hilton Reservations Worldwide, your 20% discount will be applied on the rate (where applicable) upon presentation of your Hilton Macquarie Platinum Card at the hotel. This includes pre-paid accommodation rates, where your 20% discount will be refunded to you upon check-in.

What is the difference between Fully Flexible and Advanced Purchase Rates?

These are easy-to-understand rate types that are available at every Hilton Hotel in Australasia.

Fully Flexible rates have no restrictions and provide maximum flexibility. These rates vary on the demand of the hotel. To guarantee these rates you will need to provide your credit card details upon booking, you will not be charged until you check-out of the hotel. 4pm on day of arrival cancellation policy applies, which means that if you wish to cancel your reservation, you must do so by 4pm on the day of your stay, otherwise your credit card will be charged.

Advance Purchase rates are the most competitive rates for travellers able to plan their itineraries ahead. These rates can be booked a minimum of 21 days prior to arrival. Full payment is required at time of booking. Once confirmed your reservation is non-refundable and cannot be changed.

Does Hilton Hotels in Australia apply a credit card surcharge?

From 1 March, 2010 all Hilton Hotels in Australia will pass on a standard credit card surcharge to guests who settle their accounts with credit card. The surcharge will be levied on all credit card payments and equals 1.5% in addition to the total payment amount. Hilton Hotels in Australia will continue to accept alternative methods of payment, including cash.
However there are exemptions to the credit card surcharge:


  • If you settle your hotel charges with a debit card (select debit option) or cash
  • If you have made a booking which requires a credit card deposit at the time of booking such as our Advance Purchase rates
  • Only applies to Hilton Hotels within Australia
